Ron Ward - President & Chief Executive Officer
Ron Ward was President, General Manager and shareholder of Aron Services (2003) Ltd., a position he held from 1989 - 2006. His prior experience includes 30 years in the mechanical and industrial construction industry, primarily in operations and senior management. In 2006, Aron Services (2003) Ltd. amalgamated with three other companies to form IPAC Services Corporation.
With IPAC Services Corporation, Ron Ward fulfils the role of President and C.E.O. (Chief Executive Officer). As the most senior executive, he is responsible for directing the business of the company in a profitable manner in accordance with the objectives and policies established by the Board of Directors. He works along with the senior executives and the Board of Directors to develop current and long-range objectives, strategies and policies for the organization. Ron also serves as the company's principle spokesperson in matters with significant impact on the functioning of the organization.
Ron Ward is a passionate leader. He leads by example and actively participates in IPAC’s programs and commitment to provide a safe and meaningful workplace for its employees and to provide quality workmanship for its clients. He maintains memberships in numerous organizations pertaining to the petroleum and construction sectors and actively participates and supports many local community programs.
In addition to his demanding work schedule, Ron appreciates the importance of making time for his friends and family. Among other pursuits, he is an accomplished pilot with 30 years of experience.
Derrick Mysko - Chief Operating Officer
Derrick Mysko has a long and valued history with IPAC Services Corporation. He was previously the Vice President of Administration for Aron Services (2003) Ltd., before it amalgamated and became the present IPAC Services Corporation. As such, he was responsible for all administrative, commercial and corporate financial operations of Aron Services (2003) Ltd. Prior to joining Aron, Derrick was employed for 10 years in the banking and investment sectors primarily throughout the province of Saskatchewan. Derrick's experience includes all facets of financial and strategic planning, business administration, and corporate development. He holds a Diploma in Business Administration – Management Major.
With IPAC Services Corporation, Derrick currently holds the position of Chief Operating Officer. As a member of the senior executive team, Derrick oversees the Project Management Office which functions as the source and guidelines for construction management best practices throughout the company. His previous roles with IPAC Services as Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Co-Chief Operating Officer presented him with further experience in financial controls, asset and project management. Additionally, it provided Derrick with a diverse operational background. As Chief Operating Officer, Derrick is responsible for the overall management of project planning and implementation, standardization of the estimation process, and the development of effective cost and schedule controls within significant projects.
Previously from Saskatchewan, Derrick and his family have made Alberta their home for over 15 years, most recently moving to Calgary. Derrick is a dedicated and hardworking individual that exhibits a constant enthusiasm for life and his work. His hobbies include watching baseball, being outdoors, and spending time with his family. As well, he is an avid supporter of the Canadian Cancer Society.
Alana Turcotte – Corporate Business Development Manager
Alana Turcotte leads IPAC’s business development from our Calgary Project Management Office with over 17 years of experience in the oil and gas industry.
While Alana was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, her family moved to Fort McMurray, Alberta when she was eight years old. She graduated from high school in Fort McMurray and then moved away to attend college and receive her Business Administration Diploma in Marketing and Management. After college, she moved back to Fort McMurray and from the age of twenty-four, co-owned multiple businesses where she took on financial and business development functions for these companies.
In 2000, Alana moved to Calgary where she continued to work in financial roles and advanced to the position of Financial Controller for a global geophysical manufacturing company. Several years later, Alana became Manager of Business Development for a contract sales business that included managing a team that represented businesses across the industry, from drilling to pipelining. Following this, she moved to the role of VP of Business Development for a pipeline and facility construction business. This background made Alana the ideal fit when she joined IPAC Services in 2014.
Alana’s charismatic personality is recognized by her continued professionalism and business relationships based on principles such as integrity, honesty and trust. She actively participates as a member in Calgary Women in Energy (CWIE) and the Gas Producers Association of Canada (GPAC).
If you were to ask Alana what her most successful achievement is, she would quickly defer the spotlight to her daughter. Raising a kind, driven and incredibly smart young woman who is currently studying Business at U of C, is on the top of Alana's list.
Alana is an outdoor enthusiast, enjoying activities such as skiing, mountain biking, hiking and running, with completion of her first half marathon in 2012.
Sheldon Rule – Corporate Quality Assurance Manager
Sheldon brings to IPAC Services more than 20 years of industry experience. Born and raised in Beaverlodge, AB, Sheldon has lived in Grande Prairie for most of his working and professional career. After completing his interprovincial journeyman certification in the welding trade at Fairview College, Sheldon worked as an owner operator of his own welding and fabrication company for 5 years.
As way of natural progression, Sheldon went on to take further training and became a CSA 178.2 Weld Inspector, AWS Quality Control Inspector, and CWB Welding Supervisor. Sheldon stays informed of change through memberships and affiliations of industry organizations such as ASME, AWS, CWB and CSA. Field experience, inspection certification, and proficiency in code requirements has given Sheldon an excellent combination for handling the ever progressing quality control landscape.
Sheldon is proud to be part of a team that recently received two prestigious honours. Being named Construction Company of the Year and receiving an Award for Excellence in Health in Safety at the Oil and Gas Awards Canada is testimony that the IPAC team embraces change and is able to meet and adapt to the ever challenging climate in project traceability.
When not at work, Sheldon is a full time volunteer and advocate for the Grande Prairie Judo Club where he is able to help train and inspire children of all ages. Also a motorcycle enthusiast, Sheldon is on the open road whenever his schedule and the weather permits.
Phil Linfield – Corporate Loss Prevention Manager
Born in Edmonton, AB, Phil has strong family ties and history in northern Alberta, although raised in BC’s Lower Mainland and the Thompson/Okanagan area. Phil received his Natural Gas and Petroleum Technology Diploma from BCIT and returned to Edmonton to work as a corrosion technician. Over the years, work history focused primarily on industrial chemical plant operations, supervision and safety management. In 2007, Phil and his wife made the journey back to Alberta and settled in Sexsmith where Phil started as a plant superintendent. The chemical plant that Phil was working for was hit hard by the recession and closed its doors. It was at this time that Phil started with IPAC Services as the Corporate QA & Loss Prevention Manager.
Phil believes in situational leadership that strives for team-building with a focus on accountability, honesty and fairness. Phil is trained in root cause analysis, process hazard analysis, hazop methods as well as behavioural based safety. He is a Certified Engineering Technologist registered with ASET and also an active member of the Grande Prairie Petroleum Association.
As Corporate Loss Prevention Manager, Phil is very proud of the accomplishments made at IPAC Services, bringing safety to the foreground and helping reduce recordable and lost time injuries over the years. IPAC’s recent Award for Excellence in Health and Safety-Operational, from the Inaugural Oil & Gas Awards in Calgary was a highlight of 2015. More improvements are in the works to help distinguish IPAC as a leader in the industry.
Outside of work, Phil’s passions include golf, hockey, family and grandchildren. Amongst other volunteer services, Phil had previously volunteered with the Canadian Ski Patrol for over 9 years and is a confident first aider.
Nicole Wilson – Controller
Nicole Wilson has 15 years of experience working in general administration and office automation in the Oil and Gas and Industrial Construction industries. Integral to this experience is her long time history with IPAC Services, allowing her to acquire a comprehensive understanding of the operational and administration workings of the company. Previous to her position of Controller, Nicole held the position of Office Administration Manager with IPAC for 4 years.
Nicole was born and raised in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia. She moved to Grande Prairie with her family 9 years ago and immediately started working for IPAC Services in the safety administration and payroll departments. Before coming to IPAC, she completed various business administration, financial accounting and financial mathematic courses at NSCC. Nicole plays a primary role in troubleshooting and training of our in-house project costing, accounting and data management system.
In addition to her technical skills, Nicole believes honesty, commitment and communication are important to be successful in business. With these qualities, she oversees all administrative functions of IPAC including human resources, purchasing and accounting. She works closely with the Executive Vice President and prepares and reports on all financial and budgetary aspects of the company.
Nicole maintains membership to the Canadian Payroll Association and plays an active role in the local Desk and Derrick Club. Nicole is a proud mother of her two sons and enjoys family time and watching her boys play hockey.
Rochelle Killins – Corporate Administration and Communications Director
Another long-standing employee of IPAC Services, Rochelle has an intricate knowledge of all aspects of the business. For over 20 years she has played an important part in developing administrative and operational processes.
Born in Tofield, Alberta, Rochelle’s father was employed in the oil and gas industry early on and her family moved to various locations throughout Alberta and BC before settling in Northern Alberta. Upon graduation of high school in Beaverlodge, AB, Rochelle followed in her father’s footsteps and immediately began working as a summer student for Peace Pipe Line Ltd. Shortly afterward, she completed a college business program and was then hired at Aron Services Ltd. full time in 1994. She held various administrative positions and eventually progressed to fulfill roles as Contracts Administrator and Project Manager.
In 2006, when Aron Services amalgamated and became IPAC Services, Rochelle took on the role of Executive Assistant where she continued to assist in the everyday workings of the senior leadership team. She believes in IPAC’s adage that everyone can be a leader and leadership is best learned by example.
Along with her responsibilities at work, she recently completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in Professional Communication through the Royal Roads University in Victoria, BC. This helped her progress into her current role as Corporate Administration and Communications Director.
Outside of work and studies, Rochelle and her husband enjoy spending time in the outdoors and travelling. These opportunities often present reflective time when she can read and write. Additional pursuits include oil and acrylic painting and all other forms of art.
